More than just Christian Education and Bible Studies, we offer a "place to belong" for kids and youth, small groups where adults can build strong relationships, music programs and a puppet and drama team, and lots of opportunities to work together to change the lives of those in our own community and communities around the world.
You don't have to be a member to join in. Check out what's happening and come be a part of the fun and fellowship!

We also teach at both the local and national level at Christian puppetry conferences like those held by the Fellowship of Christian Puppeteers.
If you're interested in joining, we are currently accepting new members. You don't have to be a member of York Springs United Methodist Church to join, but we welcome you and your family to share worship with us if you don't have a home church.

We offer two adult Sunday School classes each week at 9:00 a.m.
Adult Bible Studies is a United Methodist Curriculum that changes quarterly, alternating between the Old and New Testaments. Class members read each week's lesson through the week so they can discuss the Bible Study material together. This class meets in the Sanctuary and is taught by Pastor Kevin and his wife, Valerie.
Adult Video Series - 12 A 12 week in-depth study of the Cross, "He Chose the Nails" by Max Lucado beginning January 27, 2008
Each week there will be a video presentation followed by an informal discussion. "These twelve lessons have been written to encourage, inspire, and challenge you, as you journey by the Via Dolorosa, the "Way of Sorrows" that Christ took to Calvary. As you consider what Christ's sacrifice means, you will be able to look into his eyes, touch his wounds, hear his voice, recognize his pain, and realize he did it all just for you."
You are invited to join this social and spirit-filled group of retired or stay-at-home men and women. They meet the second Friday of every month at the Keystone Diner in New Oxford at 11:30 a.m. Good food and fellowship are enjoyed by all. Members from this group often volunteer to help assemble our monthly church newsletter and address postcards for our postcard ministry.
While this ministry was started to provide quilts for nursing homes and others in need, it is also a great place for learning. You don't have to know how to sew to join the group every other Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. If you'd like to help and you're willing to learn, email info@ysumc.org
We love staying in touch with our church family, and this ministry was started to remember special occasions and send words of Christian love and encouragement by mail. Meeting every other week, this group makes sure the YSUMC family feels cared for and loved.
Those who have been a part of the "Walk to Emmaus" are encouraged to join the monthly Saturday meetings at a local restaurant for a time of spiritual renewal.
The heart of our church is its Small Groups. These "little churches" within the "big church" are places to build strong relationships with others outside of the worship setting.
Some groups focus on Bible Study, others are Support Groups. They are many and varied, but all strive to be intimate groups of people who share and care for each other with mutual accountability that is necessary for spiritual growth and service.
Scripture tells us "...let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together...but let us encourage one another." —Hebrews 10:24-25.
As single parents, we know the stress, frustration, and loneliness involved in loving and caring for children without help from a partner. This group was formed to offer support to single parents within our community. With God's guidance, we hope to offer assistance and encouragement. CSP meets twice a month at a member's home. Email info@ysumc.org for details on meeting dates and times.
Our GROUP of adults (men and women, all ages) has been meeting together for several years in the home of a church member every other Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. We have studied and discussed Henry Blackaby’s "Experiencing God" and "Your Church Experiencing God Together" which has helped the members realize the importance of having a real and personal relationship with God. We are presently studying "The Life Lessons with Max Lucado", starting with the Book of I Corinthians. If you'd like to join, email info@ysumc.org.
A group of men meet at The Apple Bin Restaurant at 7:00 a.m. every other Saturday morning. They enjoy breakfast, fellowship, and a time for renewing their covenant together. It's a time to share joys and concerns, and a time to be reminded that we share many struggles, and that we're not in this life alone. To join, email info@ysumc.org.
This group of senior women meet during the day in someone's home. They have Bible Study, participate in group discussions, and enjoy light refreshments. For meeting dates and times, email info@ysumc.org.
If you have an idea or would like to lead a small group, please contact Pastor Kevin to share your thoughts at pastorkevin@ysumc.org.
